This Blog Will Always Be About My Sims

Having decided to separate my Sims blog from other games, I've decided to make this exclusively my Sims 3 blog for showcasing my Sims and their adventures. Over the next little while, I will be adding links to my Sims 3 stories and sites. This way people can easily navigate the site and hopefully I'll be able to make it a lot easier for people to navigate this complex multi-blog site with the entry point at Nikkei_Simmer.

Over the next little while, I'll start putting up links to sims that I create that I am willing to share. Most of the ones that I play with are not available. Or you know them in different forms.

This blog will be Sims 3 only...and nothing else. I have other blogs for that other content.

You'll be seeing a lot of them.

Sims 3 - Homeless to Homeowner Challenge (No Points; just gameplay) - (Vanilla Game)

to

Homeless to Homeowner Challenge: (modified Homeless Challenge for Vanilla game-play)- only expansion packs I have are EA's Sims 3 - Night Life and Stuff Pack: High End Loft Stuff which will not be used.

  • You cannot have a job (you're stinking and smelly and thus no other sims will give you a job). You cannot even have a part-time job if you are playing this as a "teen - challenge".  All your income has to be made from self-employment or by scavenging items to sell.
  • No consignment store (not available in base game),
  • Remove taxi charges at §20/day of travel from family funds at end of each day  (equivalent to two taxi-rides @ 10§ a taxi-ride); Taxi drivers will refuse to carry stolen items larger than what you can conceal on your person.  If you have a lamp, you have to walk home. Ensure that you tabulate each taxi-ride your sim takes.
  • Dumpster Diving Allowed: large items like TVs, bookshelves and other stuff need to be deleted as the sim, not having a method of carting it cannot sell it or even conceivably cart it home - only exception is If you have stolen a car before-hand then you can cart it home.  You can only drive the car once in order to do a dumpster dive circuit - before the car has to be sold.
  • If your sim has the kleptomaniac trait, he can steal a car, however he cannot keep it around to drive (he has to sell it - drive it home and then sell it; if he keeps it for longer than a day, you can assume that he will be found) and can only keep 25% of the sale price (if he sells the car and keeps full price, it assumed that the police will start investigating).  He can only steal one car at a time.  And he cannot steal a car until he has the money to buy a parking space on the lot.  Since there is no consignment store in the vanilla Sims 3 game, it is assumed that he fenced the stolen car at a severely reduced rate.  Adjust according to testing enabled cheats on, familyincome family name +(25%x saleprice) or use this  Luxury cars are only 10% as thefts of such cars are more likely to be investigated. Highend Luxury cars are only 5% (due to the same reason)  Reduce the family income by the amount of money that the sale of the vehicle
brought in at market value, then repeat the cheat code and add the adjusted price of
the fenced vehicle.  The simple fact is that there is no easy way to make money if you're homeless and resorting to crime isn't really a great way to earn money for the amount of money you end up bringing in.
Adjusted Vehicle Amounts:

Sloppy Jalopy (25%) +§237
Big Lemon (25%) +§300
Vorn P328 (25%) +§925
Wornado Triage (25%) +§1125
Yomoshoto Evasion (25%) +§2450
VFN Kompensator* (10%) +§3500
Bwan Speedster* (5%) +§4250
Margaret Vaguester* (5%) +§5250
  • In this challenge, there is no point-gathering - it is just gameplay with realism; therefore only basic shelter mods are allowed - lean-to, tent, sleeping bags, park bench, if you can find one.   You can only build when you have enough simoleons to build a house in one fell swoop, otherwise, you are in saving mode.
  • Your sim is limited to the swipes allowable per night in the game - no mods allowed, three swipes allowed.  If your sim swipes something that he can't transport (too large) from a residence, he has to put it in a mailbox and send it back (no swiping stoves or fridges or other items that cannot be transported easily). If you choose to fence your non-vehicle item, sell it at 30% of item market value (do it the same way you do the cars).
  • The game ends when you have a proper shelter over your head (four walls, cooking stove, fridge, kitchen sink and a properly equipped bathroom), a means of earning income (or several) and §25,000 in disposable simoleons.
  • You can earn § by playing guitar for tips only; you cannot accept the money making opportunities (only painting sims have this opportunity).  You can also fish for money making, however you have to sell your fish at the store within the same day or they will be considered spoiled.

I will update this challenge page as I come up with other challenge rules.

Welcome to the New Spot for My Sims Content.

As we hit January 19, 2024, I've decided to make Nikkei_Simmer Sims a general gaming blog and move my Sims 3 Sims Content to a new blog. "Nikkei_Simmer's Cracked Sims". My sims have all got a screw or two loose and well...their creator is no different.

So hopefully, you'll buckle in for the ride and stay a while, while I'm trying to get things sorted around here in between packing for a move and trying to figure out where we'll end up next.
