To make a realistic homeless save, I decided to make myself a "Wheel of Misfortune" where there is a bylaw officer that occasionally comes around every week to your encampment and levels a punishment if you're homeless.
The punishments can range from a minor fine (which can be major if you are dead broke) or a major one that can involve one having to dump all of one's possessions and end up broke again (just remember to write down what your actual simoleon total was before you start selling your possessions because that's what you're going to end up as. This is going to reflect how some municipalities treat their homeless by just coming in and throwing out all their possessions. Yes, I've seen it done.
And paying for the licenses to hunt and fish legally.
